Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau is the educational outreach branch of the THS. Its purpose is to educate the general public on reptiles and amphibians, the ecological niche they fill, and the importance of conserving both. The Speakers Bureau has a slide library, coloring sheets, brochures, and a display that highlights endangered herpetofauna of our state at its disposal.

The public is invited to attend the Tucson Herpetological Society’s member meetings.  Our meetings are typically held on the last Wednesday of every other month. Meetings start at 7pm and are free and open to the public. In addition to announcements and society business, there is a speaker’s presentation each month.

We are happy to announce that THS now has access to the Agnese Nelms Haury Lecture Hall (room S107) in University of Arizona’s Environment and Natural Resources 2 building (ENR2).

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]It’s on the northeast corner of Park Ave and 6th St. A fine venue with comfortable and spacious seating, large format audio-visual, and the capability for recording and/or broadcasting our programs (with speaker permission).

 

The hall is located on the ground floor in the southwest corner, next to the Slot Canyon Café. There will be people or signs to help you find the way.

Parking

There is free parking in a large lot directly across the street (to the south) from the ENR2 building.  This lot is between Park Ave and Fremont Ave. Using the lighted pedestrian crossing at Fremont, cross the street and follow the sidewalk left to the glass door entrance on your right. Once through the doors you will find the hall’s entrance to your left.
You can also opt to pay $1/hr (credit card only) in the garage immediately adjacent to the Hall (to the east). Once parked, exit the garage and follow the sidewalk west to one of the glass door entrances and follow the people and/or signs to the southwest corner of the building.
